How to make your house smart through automation
We are in a new era! Each of us are surrounded by technology that makes our lives easier in the work and even living space.
These days we see air conditioners that activate 30 minutes before we arrive, lightbulbs that turn on when we enter the room and even coffee makers that automatically brew our good-old morning joe while we listen to the news.
How is this possible? Well, it’s the magic of home automation. This refers to interconnecting your devices through the internet to automate their functions and create a “smart home”.
A “smart home”, as people call them, automates your everyday home tasks to make your life easier, more productive, and cleaner for the environment. First, smart light bulbs can be programmed to turn on and off at certain schedules or even manually controlled with your smartphones. This means you can save energy, adjust the brightness and even the color of your light bulbs to customize your home for your needs on any occasion.
Another feature are the smart thermostats that can easily adjust the temperature of your home even if you are not there, so you always arrive to find the perfect temperature even on a snowy day. The best part is that the thermostat can learn your preferences and adjust accordingly, isn’t that amazing?
But automation not only improves our daily lives, it also makes our house safer. Automated houses have smart security systems that can be armed or disarmed from your smartphone and use digital assistants or voice commands to activate or deactivate. No more going to the panel in the living room to turn on the security system!
There are also automated door locks that can be connected to an app on your smartphone and automatically unlock your door as you approach, or smart carbon monoxide and smoke detectors that send a signal to your phone to pinpoint which room the smoke is coming from, so you are aware of any trouble even when you are outside.
All these automation gadgets can make your home more comfortable, more enjoyable and even more secure. New technologies are here to stay and also to make our lives better, and this is only the beginning.
